The Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper has voiced his desire to be a part of Germany’s squad for this year’s Euro championship.
Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper, Rene Adler, has revealed his desire to travel to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 squad for the European championship. The shot stopper has not featured in any competitive fixture for nine months
now but is hopeful of earning a recall when Joachim Low announces his 23-men squad.
Adler confirmed that he is in direct contact with the national team manager which is an encouraging sign ahead of the competition. He admitted that it would be difficult for Low to select him in his final squad having not played
since the start of this season but the player still reckons that he should be an automatic selection after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424.
While talking to a local sports publication, Bild, the 27-year-old further added:
"I'm still in contact with [Germany coach] Joachim Low. He always gives me the impression that I can rejoin the national team when the time is right. I've already made 10 [international] appearances, so I don't have to prove to
anyone that I am good enough for that level.”
On the other hand, the keeper also commented on losing his place to Bernd Leno at the BayArena. He mused that it is not a favourable situation for him at this stage of his career but congratulated Leno on settling so quickly after
coming on as an emergency replacement last year.
“Of course it's not nice to lose your spot, but in such a situation, you have to be positive. Bernd has put in some great performances for the team," Adler concluded.
Adler will run out of contract at the BayArena by the end of this season and Werkself bosses do not intend to extend his deal at the club. The German has been serving Leverkusen since the past decade and made his senior team appearance
in 2006 having gone through the youth ranks.
The shot stopper is currently linked with a move to Hamburg prior to the start of the next season and has already cleared his medical with the Imtech Arena outfit.
