The Montpellier Herault boss feels that Olympique de Marseille will certainly not come bearing gifts and that his side will need to be alert in order to get a win that will put some distance between them and PSG
With just a few weeks left, Montpellier are still on top of the Ligue 1 standings. Currently, La Paillade are level on points with PSG and have a game in hand. On Wednesday, La Paillade play against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 and a win over Didier Deschamps’
side will give La Paillade a three-point lead over PSG.
Certainly, Olympique de Marseille fans would not want to see their sworn enemies PSG lift the Championelle so another defeat might make the OM fans happier.
However, Montpellier coach Rene Girard does not think that Didier Deschamps’ side will come bearing gifts for his side. The Frenchman believes that Marseille, despite being in a fix, will create a lot of problems for his side.
Marseille are currently in 9th place in the Ligue 1 standings and Deschamps’ men are finding it hard to return to winning ways.
“I’m expecting something difficult. They are in a bad spiral. I do not expect gifts from OM. Their salvation is through the Coupe de la Ligue but I do not think our game will be easy. There may be a special atmosphere and the team might have changed a little.

A good result at the Velodrome would put some distance between PSG and Montpellier and Girard feels that his team should try to go all the way.
“We’re here and we’ll go all the way. It’s a good lesson for a football team with a small budget,” says Girard who is still fuming at sporting director Leonardo’s jibes towards coaches in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
“I did not appreciate the attack on the French technicians. I find it disrespectful. They (PSG) are there and are still clinging, it’s an achievement,” said Girard sarcastically.
With just eight games left in the campaign, Girard knows that anything can happen. However, judging by form and spirit, one would not look like a feel for putting his money on Montpellier to lift their first Championelle.
