Reneesgotzip to set the pace in the Las Virgenes Stakes
It is the range that is to be decided for Reneesgotzip in the upcoming races, whether she is a one turn filly or she can go a lot more than that. Lanni Family Trust owned 3-year-old filly is scheduled to run in the Grade 1, $250,000 Las Virgenes Stakes over
a mile on the Santa Anita Park’s fast dirt main track on 3 March, 2012, a race that drew eight three-year-old fillies.

Peter Miller decided to stretch Reneesgotzip in distance after she pulled away from her rivals in the Grade 2 Santa Ynez Stakes on 15 January, 2012, at about six and a half furlongs against 5 other runners to post a magnificent victory of 7 ¾ lengths over
Made To Love Her in second and Painted Woman in third, while she covered the sprint in 1 minute and 15.25 seconds.
Corey Nakatani lets the filly loose, and she fly’s, because that’s what she has been doing in her 2 career starts, first in the maiden special weight race last year in December, which she was able to break at first asking over Hollywood Park’s cushion track
going six furlongs in 1 minute and 9.05 seconds.
The Kentucky bred filly is the daughter of City Zip, out of mare No Dress Code by Distorted Humor, Reneesgotzip’s connections aren’t going to change her style at all, and she is expected to set the pace in the Las Virgenes Stakes.
The filly has it in her to take on a good field for a good distance, but the question mark will be on her stretch run come the Las Virgenes Stakes.
The crack sprinter is 2 in 2 in sprints, and her real career decider will come in the Las Virgenes where she will have the opportunity to prove whether she wants to go out in distance or be cut back to sprints only.
