Renewable resources?

Question

I am 100% global warming theory whereas many are not. What i dont understand is that many people are crying out for renewable resources and yet when they get proposed to be built and they are somewhere near where poeple live, there is an uproar and they are contested, surely idf they are going to give us a better life why not? there are futures to think about than that of now!

What i also dont understand is that why poeple beleve that wind turbines will destroy the scenery, i personally believe that they will be that of an asset to the scenery. I love nature and i see no reason why turbines should be opposed when clearly the time has come to get these magnificent structures in place to hinder the imminent threat of temperature increase?

Are you in support of renewable sources? What types are you most likely to support? - I would be against the use of nuclear energy as this is way too risky!

I am in favour of renewable and don't thing enough research has gone into hydro stations at river mouths. we are and island after all with billions of gallons flowing into the sea every minute and plenty of rivers and they all end up in the sea.

I agree with you, renewable energy is great, I actually like the look of wind turbines too. Much more attractive than those massive electricity pylons - they give me the creeps. I can't stand being any where near them, they are very scary!!!!

I believe you have all missed the point! oops...lol

You still want the energy......you are feeding the disease.......I am a qualified heating engineer (energy efficient ) and the biggest cause is households.Boilers.....for hot water and heating.......Think ......an extra jumper.......less sitting in front of the tv and a bit more exercise (obesity) for warmth....It is nice to have the luxury but treat it as that and not as a necessity for modern living........we will reap what we sow..........

it  takes more energy to produce and maintain a wind turbine than it can ever reproduce

I like windmills and solar cells but right now they are too expensive.

I support renewable sources. Solar, wind, and geothermal are the simplest to get moving with. And I also agree strongly with your second paragraph. It excites me to see a new wind farm going up. There are several in my area. The below website shows how to implement renewable sources into your home or life.
