Renewing Driver's license, in another province?

My Friend has just moved to toronto. She needs her drivers license renewed for ID so she can get onto a plane. Will she have to switch it to an Ontario license? Know any places she can renew it? Or Would Student ID work as a piece of ID to get on a plane?

If she is resident in Toronto, and her original driver licence is expiring, she needs to get an Ontario driver licence as soon as possible to avoid being caught with no licence.  If she is a full-time student maintaining a residence in her former province, she needs to call the licence authorities in her province for guidance.  No province maintains renewal offices in other provinces for obvious reasons.
