Hi,

I am applying for renewal of my son's passport at the Indian cosulate in USA.

What kind of ID is accepted by the consulate?

I actually do not have any id for my son other than the current passport ( he is 5 yr old, doesn't go to school)

I have gone thr' all the relevant websites which do not include any info on ID for minors and calling them always gows to voice mailbox :(

People who have already done this reply please!

  3. Shalaka, If your son had a previous passport (that is why you are renewing right?) what ID's did he have then? Did they require you to furnish them such? If so, then those ID's are the same thing they may ask from you. After all, the Indian Consulate (passport section) is just an extension of the passport office back in India. So they will require the same things from you as they did then.**
