Renewing my British passport?

I need to renew my british passport as my existing one has expired. Along with renewing my passport, i also need to change my surname on the passport as on my existing passport I was not married and have my father's surname on the passport. What i need to know is, would i need to pay two renewal fees for this or would my one renewal fee be ok for both?

thanks to all answers in advance!

  1. one should be enough

  2. Just renew it in your new name, you only pay for that, what do you mean both?

you can only get one passport, you can't get two in married and maiden names, only one.

  3. if its a joined pass port u would pay a little more than the single one but if its just u on the pass port u shouldnt need to pay any more

  4. I am doing the same thing, changing my name and renewing at the same time-it is the standard £66 fee, you don't pay twice.

  5. Just the one. You're only getting one passport. You'll just pay the full fee because the passport is expired (if it wasn't expired you could have asked for them to change the photo page which would have been a lot cheaper but it would have kept the original expiry date instead of getting a brand new passport).
