Re doing bath from 1967 home, saved High flush toilet. ( Toilet is prob. 60-65 ' away from septic" Don't think old crusty pipes will let the new LowFlo work!) Need to have 2nd toilet working, don't want to track all thru home. Can I re-set toilet using blocks if necess? Will be putting concrete board down in future, working on walls now. All particle board gone, have new wax rings.Planks 1/2" lower than mount (old cast iron) will wax absorb the diff? Ideas?

  1. They make an oversized wax ring that has a flange attached. Buy one of those and another mid size ring w/o the flange. Double them up and put them on when you reset the toilet. The rings are cheap so you can do it as often as necessary. I did this when retiling a 1 bath home last summer. It worked just fine....Good luck!
