Rent A Car?

Hi, im 16 years old and my mom works during the day everyday so its hard for me to go places without a car, and the only car i love is a Jeep (the one im looking at is 11,000), but thats too much for me now untill i get a sturday job for the rest of HS. So, i thought of a new plan, renting a car for the summer. I went on Budget.com and looked at the prices for the dates i would have the car and it came out to about $1,431.

Is that reasonable for a girl that wants to go to the beach/festivals and hang out for the whole summer? or do you have any other suggestions. Also i was going to suggest to my mom that i would pay half, cuz i have about a little over $1,500 in my savings, but also im worried about gas and dont know how to figure that out with her. and the car for the rental is 26-32 mpg, the best eco friendly they have.

please give me your opinions.

How about buying a used Old Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla for about $2,000.00?  Im sure you mom will help you out a bit, beside it is way cheaper than renting a car and it is your to keep.  Talk to your mom about buying a used vehicle instead renting one.  Good luck

I don't think Budget will rent a car to a 16 year old.   Renting a car for the summer is not he best idea.  Instead ask your parents to match your $1500 for a used car.

the only way you could legally do this

is if your Mom rented it and added you as an additional driver and paid the daily fee for you not being 25 years old.

that would make it very expensive.

if she rented and let you drive without the above, if you got in a wreck the contract would be voided and you'd be up sh*t creek.

save your money and buy a used car you can find some 98's for about $4,000.
