  1. No its not true.

It varies from county to county but the highest you can get is in Dublin.

In Dublin a single person can't rent a place that more than €130 a week, If they are livgin alone.

If they are living with someone or renting a room in a house they cant rent for more than €98.

I know this from personal experience because I cant find anywhere to live in Dublin where the rent is less than €130 a week and they accept rent allowance.

If you have a child you can rent for no more than €1000 a month.

You will find a few that are €120/€130 but when you ring up they refuse rent allowance.

You find plenty that are €150+ and will accept rent allowance but the welfare turn down your application because its more than the rental cap.

  2. WARNING ! ! !

The link the newbie Floresg g provides is a link to a VIRUS infected site . He knows this !

Please report him . He is spamming this all over R&S .

  3. No, the amount they will pay depends on the area. There is a maximum rent that varies by county (In Donegal its €90 per week) - if your rent is more than that (€91 in the case of Donegal) they won't give you a bean.

You still have to pay the first bit yourself (€13 I think but it might have changed).
