  1. Advance rent is for the month that you are taking the flat. So if you move in on August 1st you have to prepay August rent which carries you to the last day of August. You pay before use not after.

If you want to move out on September 1st that you wouldn't pay September rent. Your last rent payment would be on August 1st and your last day of occupancy would be August 30th.

Deposit return is contingent on returning the property is clean and well care for state. If the landlord has to clean, repair, replace things, etc that will be deducted from the deposit amount.

  2. each state is different and since you say 'flat' I don't even know if you are in America...

Aside from that, when you leave, the flat/apartment is inspected. It should be as nice as when you moved in(did you take pictures when you moved in?). If it is damaged, that repair will come out of the deposit. If you rent again, read the lease before you sign it.

  3. Your question is worded a little confusing - It sounds like you have some pre-paid rent and a security deposit. If that is not what you meant- then I'm not sure.

Yes - you should get any un-used portion of the pre-paid rent and your deposit back as long as you leave the place in same or better condition.

  4. Yes, you get the deposit back provided that you haven't caused any damage to the flat or taken any of the furnishings that were put in there by the landlord. The rent is not refunded though.

  5. It depends on what the policy is for were you decide to rent.  My apartment complex said they would honor giving the deposit back as long at everything looked good in my apartment when I moved out..

I never saw the money tho..

    Good Luck!!!!

  6. you only get your deposit back if there is no damages to the flat as for rent no you do not get that back because that is what you paid to stay in the flat each month.

  7. no

  8. yes if there is no damage and you leave it clean. They can deduct a cleaning fee if it is dirty.

  9. You should get your deposit back, unless you trash the apartment or something else like that happens.

  10. Usually any rent paid in advance is non refundable. In your last month there you would pay no rent, as it's already been prepaid. Deposits are sometimes hard to get back, and depends on condition of the unit when you move out. Here in the States anyway

  11. Depends. If your flat has any sort of damage that wasn't there already (or wasn't accounted for at move in) or is really dirty the landlord can keep some or all of the deposit so they can repair it.

Otherwise, you should get your deposit back.

Why would you get -any- rent back?

  12. Are you serious? The deposit or bond is repaid after you leave if the landlord agrees that no damages need to be be paid for. Your rent is what you pay to rent the flat.

  13. if there is no damage you should get your deposit back within 30 days, but rent is non refundable!
