How much does one ask for a person staying at their home a month when they are nearly related or related and in full time employment?

  1. My brothers give my dad £60 a week! And they both work full time as labourers. Out of this my dad pays the electric, the oil, buys and makes food and they have their owns rooms (which are huge!). A pretty sweet deal I think!


  2. I would just ask them to pay for what they use. Electric, water, gas etc.

  3. Rent is rent regardless of whether you are related or not.

    Do your costings and take into account cleaning, washing, cooking, ironing etc. Are they on your council tax bill?

    You don't have to make a profit, but you shouldn't be making a loss. Somewhere in the region of £100/week depending on the services you are providing.
