Question:

Rental lease contract broken by landlords, please help?

I'm so ticked off at the moment. I was DILLEBERATELY ignored over my complaints about my air conditioner. The manager herself ran out to the car, and said the guy would be here by 10a.m. to fix it. Guess what? No one showed! Not to mention that my bf and I are on third shift schedule so it was really hard for me to wake up that early.

They don't spray the apartment at all, and we have bugs all in our cabinets. Not to mention I complained about a tree that looks like it's going to fall over onto the apartment, she gave me some bull c**p story about how their doing landscaping soon and nothing ever happened.

What steps should I take to get these issues resolved legally, wihtout going up there and beating the snot out of these people? Thanks.

  1. Apart from your buying some raid and charging the  landlord for it on your next rental payment, you may have to plan to find a new place when your lease expires.

The fact that a trades-person fails to show as promised is not something you can act against. Your being hard to waken is not actionable. Your opinion that a tree may fall on the building could be actionable if you had the testimony of an arborist. Otherwise it is your opinion.

Getting the opinion of the arborist would be at your cost.

I hope you will not take this as grounds for assault, no matter how unpleasant,

  2. Check with city hall to see if your town has a building inspector. If they do, you can call them to come out and inspect your apartment. If there are issues they will make the landlord fix those issues.

  3. You better take to the beating the snot out of them.

A/C is a necessity it's not something your landlord is required to provide you with UNLESS they specifically state it in your contract.

The tree doesn't make the home uninhabitable at the moment so you won't be able to do anything about that.

As for the bugs thats just fkn gross and I would have moved out by now.

    Your Landlord = Slumlord
