  1. REPORT YOUR LANDLORD TO THE COUNCIL THEY WILL COME ROUND AND CHECK THE HOUSE AND IF ANY REPAIRS NEED DOING THEY GIVE HIM A SET TIME TO DO THIS OR THEY TAKE ACTION AGAINST HIM

  2. are you finding an excuse not to pay the rent lol, if the gas safety is not within regulations then the landlord is not holding there responsibilities under the contract of leasing the property because they are responsible for maintaining the property fit for what ever purpose such as residential

  3. You can withhold the rent but you have to do it legally. You have to notify the landlord via mail. Personally, I would send a certified, return receipt, with signature letter. Then there is no doubt that he got it. Next step is to go to the clerk of courts and they will tell you what to do. You can also notiy the safety inspector in your area and he will be made to fix things.

  4. INSELLECT Have you told the Landlord? and what have he or she said

or YOU ARE JUST LOOKING FOR WAYS NOT TO PAY YOUR RENT

Well I can tell you this if you know about what you are talking about, that gas and you do not let the owner of the house know, it's your asss

that will be going up in ashes when that house goes up in flaims.

You are just looking for ways not to pay your rent and if the fire does not get you the owner can and will get you very easy.

The ans. to your question is when the owner fiend out that you know about the gas & did tell them about it because you do not want to pay

the rent then they will have it even more easyer to get your asss out, NO problem for them that time.

  5. Check with your local council about tenants rights they should advise you or try local citizen advice office, also tell your land lord why you unhappy because of unsafe condition if no joy then yeah refuse to pay and get solicitor to draw up letter as to why your contract should protect you as well as landlord!!
