  1. For about $25,000 coverage, around $20.

Typically, its about $1 for every $1,000.  Thats a good wag.

  2. it depends on what you have.  go through your place and decide if you had to replace everything, new for old. what would it cost?

The TV might be a 25" that is 5 years old, but under a replacement cost policy as soon as you by a new one, in the event of a loss you get reimbursed for a new one.  So assuming you had a fire and lost everything. And had to buy everything new.. How much would you spend?  It usually run about $1 - 2 per $1000 of coverage.  The other thing that can drive the price is the amount of liability you carry.  If someone slips and falls and tries to sue you.. Talk to an agent instead of guessing,

  3. It's cheap enough and well worth it. Some friends of mine were renting a home while their new home was being built. The rental house had faulty wiring and it burnt to the ground along with all personal belongings. They did not carrying rental insurance, didn't think they'd need it for just a couple of months. Also, my sister in law (years ago) lived in a apartment building that had 4 units in it. Their building burned and they also lost everything without insurance.

You can trust yourself to keep your home safe but your can't trust other people in the building or that the rental house is up to code. You never know what's going to happen in life.....

  4. depends on how much you want, you should be able to get a quote from your auto insurance company. My bf  and I were  paying a little over $20 a month but it covered $25000  for contents. Check around with insurance companies and they should be able to give you a few quotes. It can be a good idea, if a pipe bust and soaks your bed or any electronics it will be covered. If you don't have it your landlord is not responsible.  Hope this helped.

  5. Renters insurance is really really cheap because it does not cover the place you are renting merely your stuff that is in it. If there is a fire theft or vandalism you get to replace your things. Also if you are sued (the mailman slips on the front steps) you are covered. When I was renting we had our wedding jewelry, 2 computers and everything else covered for $24 a month. I don't remember the total amount of our coverage. It is worth it if for nothing else than piece of mind.

  6. I paid $11 a month for mine.

  7. If you pay for it once a year, it's $150.  If you pay for it once a month, $20 a month.

Do the math.  That's a HEAVY tax for monthly payments.

  8. It depends upon where you live, what company you use and how much coverage you want.  I would say around $15-$20 a month.

  9. depends on where you live in Madison WI a renters policy is about 100 per year.  This give you coverage for 20,000 of belongings, 300000 of liability and 5000 medical payment and and a 250 deductible.  All these coverage are good coverages there is more available but this is where I would recommend that you start looking.  You dont save much to take anything less.
