Estimate for renters insurance in Farmington CT for 21 year old? Not sure how renters insurace works any information? Would it be more because i am young?

Renters insurance is based on where you live (which includes how far the fire dept is from your home, where the fire hydrants are), the construction of the building (brick, frame, fire resistive), how much contents coverage you want, the deductible you choose, the liability limit (take $500,000, it is cheap, usually about $10 more than $300,000), your insurance score (which does include credit as a component of the score).

Most renters policies are under $200 per year but can be more if you choose a higher contents limit.

The best place to get your renters insurance is with your auto carrier.  Many times you can get multipolicy credit.  Since you are young, the savings on your auto policy may equal or be more than the total cost of your renters policy.  Sometimes the combined premium of renters policy and auto policy is less than the auto premium alone.
