Question:

Renting Holiday Apartments From Ebay?

Hi

I have found some great deals on ebay for renting holiday apartments abroad and some of the sellers have a vast amount of positive feedback but of course I know that there is a good possibility some of these are not genuine and wondering whether anybody else has had any good or bad experiences from renting holiday apartments from ebay. Also if anybody has any information on what kind of questions or information I should ask from the seller or any thing I should be vigilant about.

  1. Their feedback score/ebay history should give you an idea of their credibility.

Is the property also advertised on any owners direct websites? If so, by looking at how long the owner has advertised on the listing site (usually says at the bottom) you can get an idea of how long they have been letting for. The longer the better.

When reviewing a property have a look at how popular their bookings are, ask for testimonials & do they have their own website with further information?

If in doubt make sure you know the renters address, phone number etc. before any payment is sent. Can they provide a utility bill with proof of address?

Ask to pay by Paypal which should offer some protection against fraud.

    Hope this helps.

  2. You should check for how long the seller has been registered on Ebay for...if they are less than one year then avoid them....always ask for hard copy photo's of the appartments too.
