Question:

Renting a hotel/banquet room/hall?

Im having a sweet 16 party in about 3 weeks, so I really need to get going on the planning (obviously). I want to rent out a place like a hall or a banquet room or something, but we are on a sorta tight budget for the party. I wouldn't want to spend more than $150 on renting a place- is this possible for a *hotel/ banquet room* or a *hall*?

Thanks!

  1. Many, many venues such as banquet rooms/hotels cost much more than $150 to rent.    Also.....banquet rooms and halls, etc  are usually booked approx 6-9 months in advance (in the larger cities).   So it may be very difficult for you to find one in only 3 weeks.   My only suggestion to you would be to look into a "community" place, such as community centers, outdoor parks with pavillions that are for rent, etc.

Good Luck and have a great 16th birthday!

  2. You are most likely too late, and have waaaaaay too little money to spend.  Just call a couple of nice local hotels - not too big, just the small Holiday Inn nearby - and ask them what it costs for a 1000 sq foot or bigger room will cost.  Some of them won't do it unless you buy their food, too.  They may not let you carry in your own food.

  3. Have it @ your house and have the boys at your house sleepover at grandma's.

  4. Try a local VFW or a church hall.  Sometimes restaurants that offer buffet have small rooms that you can use.
