Renting a private villa?

I have found a villa to rent Villa Las Palmeras, Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote.

Can anyone advice me how to make sure that this is a genuine villa for rent. I have to pay four weeks before arrival am a bit cautious.

I know that this is how it works but is there anyway I can try and protect my money
