I am looking up places to rent, a studio or flat or just a small one bedroom.

I keep seeing the initials PCM next to some of the prices.

What does PCM mean ?

I am in the US... if that makes a difference..

Also does the term apartment mean something different in the UK then it might in the US.. I see in some apartment rentals that you need a two night minimum,.

I am looking of a LONG term lease..

  1. The term 'PCM' means 'per calendar month' and so the prices you're seeing is essentially what you'll pay every month.

We don't really use the term 'apartment' in this country; usually we stick to using the word 'flat'.  It's likely that the properties you're bringing up are holiday lets for the tourists.  They're probably branded with the name apartment as some people who don't come from this part of the world might not necessarily know what the word 'flat' means.  You probably just need to look on websites that are geared for long term lettings such as www.gumtree.com.
