  1. Not DANDENONG!!

lol Where I used to live...

What kind of place do you want to rent eg House Unit, town house and how many rooms?

  2. Have a look at this real estate site:  http://www.realestate.com.au/cgi-bin/rse...

You really need to consider other criteria apart from price, as Melbourne is very spread out, traffic jams are common, and the public transport system is also overcrowded.  So choose a place as close as possible to your place of study or work.

EDIT:  Sorry, "Tape", I think your prices are a little out of date.  Nowhere is really cheap any more!

  3. Depends where you want to work/live.

    Melbourne is extremely cheap, rent-wise.

The inner city suburbs like Richmond, St. Kilda, Toorak etc, will cost about 200-250 for a one bedroom, and most of those places are not very nice. The CBD itself, will be about the same, but you won't get a car park.

Most outer suburbs will cost around 200-400 for a nice 2-3 bedroom home.
