Renting your own apartment?

Can you be 18 and rent your own apartment? If so what do you need? (ex: good credit). Or do you have to be older, like 21?

You need to have good credit to do it yourself. If you dont have good standing credit your going to need a co-signer.

2. Steady employment

3. Clear backround

4. Prior rental references (if they ask)

5. Monthly salary of at least 3x the monthly rental fee

6. A landlord willing to rent to an 18 year old.

You must be 18 or older because you are entering into a contract, and minors cannot. Beyond that, you are subject to the landlords policy. Most are going to want proof of ability, and reliability to pay the rent.

I don't know where you live, but I'm pretty sure you can move out at anytime.  You shouldn't need a credit check at all.  Unless you have a crazy landlord.   They might ask you for a job reference, or possibly a previous rental reference.  If you don't have one, just ask your grandma, or even a friend to pretend they used to rent to you. Ask them to say you paid your rent on time, you were clean, quiet, and never had any complaints.  That's what I did when i got my first apartment.

Right place, right time.  Doesn't make sense, but that's how it works.
