Question:

Renu vs Opti-Free Pros and Cons of both brand?

I've been using Opti-Free Replenish for awhile and then i switched to Renu Multiplus solution yesterday.

I would say Opti-Free is more soothing and water-like with no smell.

Renu is kind of smells like alcohol and feels more like a rubricant rather than a clean solution.

However, because it feels like a rubricant, after i soak them in Renu; the lenses feel like brand new (just opened). (you know when you open a new set of lenses it is all slippery and stuff? I don't know if you guys feel that way) . And what about it?

I think it's much comfortable during the day because lenses don't feel dry.

I just want to know what other people thinks because i've heard a lot of bad stuff about B&L brand.

Which one would you guys prefer?

  1. Ever since i started wearing contacts at the age of 15 i always used ReNu. I thought it felt ok but at times i would get some irritation but since i had never tried anything else i just stayed with it. But recently i had to switch to torric lenses which help with astigmatism. The first thing that my Dr. told me was to not use any other type of solution other than Opti-Free, she said that Opti-Free although is more expensive than other solutions its the best one to use for any type of contacts especially for torric lenses. She said that the Opti-free solution would better preserve the life of my contacts and it would be more comfortable for my eyes. Ever since i switched to Opti-Free my eyes feel so much better and they dont feel irritated and my contacts feel much more comfortable, which is very important considering that torric lenses are a bit more uncomfortable when you first put them in. Ive been using Opti free for over a year now and i couldnt be happier.
