Reo Sakata conquers Boys 400m freestyle prelims – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Reo Sakata of Itoman conquered the qualification rounds of Boys 400m freestyle on opening day of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Friday, September 21.
Sakata enjoyed a considerable lead over his following swimmer as he transpired on the finishing end for the top qualification spot of the race.
With his unstoppable efforts, Sakata remained in a prominent lead over his closest swimmer and tapped the wall for first position with a timing of 4 minutes and 02.42 seconds.
His gruelling effort was traced by Haruki Washio of Itoman, who stayed 1.90 seconds apart and proved his eligibility for second best qualification start by producing a time of 4 minutes and 04.32 seconds.
Washio was traced by Chris Grimmett-Norris of NCSA, who managed to secure third best position of the discipline as he completed his race in a time of 4 minutes and 05.38 seconds.
Fourth finest qualification spot of the event was obtained by Ikuya Matsumura of Itoman, who remained 0.38 seconds apart and tapped the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 05.76 seconds.
Matsumura was traced by Hiroshi Watahiki of Itoman, who earned fifth qualifying position of the event by submitting a time of 4 minutes and 06.23 seconds.
Subsequently, Watahiki was trailed by Benjamin N Southern of NCSA, who remained 0.76 seconds apart and clocked a time of 4 minutes and 06.99 seconds for sixth position.
Seventh best qualifying position of the race was obtained by Taisei Wada of Itoman, who remained 0.32 seconds behind and settled on the wall with a timing of 4 minutes and 07.31 seconds.
Last qualification spot of the event was obtained by Kaede Kisaka of Itoman, who suffered a loss of half body length from his former finisher. Kisaka remained half body length apart and tapped the wall for eighth position with a timing of 4 minutes and 07.81
seconds.
In addition, Sakata expressed happiness over his top finish in the 400m race and articulated that he would try his level best to continue the same in final round.
