Reoccuring theme of death in my dreams, what does this mean?

It's 2:40AM here and I just woke up from a terrible dream, one of about a million that Ive been having over the past couple months.

It was dark, I was scared, running through a parking lot through moving cars trying to run away from a woman chasing me with a gun.

A few weeks ago I had a dream where I was running away through the street from a man with a gun, who eventually tortured and killed me, not to be gruesome.

Before that I have dreamt of being shot by a total stranger right in the middle of the street, out of nowhere.

There is death in most of my dreams, and the weapon is always a gun. I am vary wary of strangers and am a bit paranoid and fearful, could this have anything to do with it? Im also going through a period of loss, I lost my best friend about a year ago and Im still trying to deal with making my own friends, etc and am a bit depressed.

Any input would be appreciated .. Thanks a lot.

  1. You'll have simply and plain get those thoughts (when  you are awaken) away from your head, to keep you free of that nightmares. That happens to all of us, but we have to think in happy things, all the good things life have to us, like the flowers, the friends, the blue sky, a good meal with your family or with a friend, to help the shelterless, that kind of things will keep you busy and eventually will make you stronger.

Friendship make us stronger, so here we are for help. Each other.

  2. Wow! this is a loaded question. While reading about your dreams the first thing that popped into my head was what was happening around you...I got my answer when you said that your friend had died about a year ago and were still trying to deal with making your own friends.

Here's what I think. In all your dreams there seems to be 2 similarities...the gun and the fact that your always running or caught off guard. As you said you are wary of strangers and a bit paranoid and fearful. The gun could represent fear and lack of confidence. And you always running or being caught of guard could mean that you don't really want change or cant let go of the past.

In my opinion...assert your self. Get out there and show the world just the type of person you are. As for the death of your friend. I am truly sorry and encourage you to find closure.

By doing this I believe that these dreams will stop completely because you will no longer be afraid of your surroundings and change.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Guns represent fear, power, control, disrespect.  So maybe you are feeling loss of control with regard to your friend.

Most dream symbols represent ourselves so the woman chasing you with a gun is really an aspect of yourself.

It looks like your beating up and torturing yourself and turning your anger inward.  Try to go easy on yourself and do something creative to get your mind off of these things.

Maybe you should talk to someone about your depression and the bad dreams will subside.

    Good luck!

  4. First thing u need to do is to sit still and convince yourself that u are a sane and a living healthy person as anyone around u can be. Normally death of a person close to us can make us go off-balance and induce in a person a strong sense of insecurity which recurs in the dreams as death. This also induces strong withdrawal symptoms and may lead to conditions u have indicated.

The solution lies in deliberate breaking of the shell of gloomy thoughts surrounding u by altering your life style. U can start with regular strenuous physical exercising and occasionaly indulging in viewing movies u find comoc and hilarious. This will certainly reduce the intense emotional pressure bottled inside u. The lady or the man in ur dreams is symbolic of ur fear of uncertainity and the unexpected. Convince yourself that death is inevitable but that should not let the world stop around you.

  5. One thing you should do is re-connect to whatever your belief is...

No one can answer this dream but yourself.

Spirituality is clearly the key here..........sometimes religion limits our understanding of it.
