I want to make sure its done right. He says we can go back and patch and prime and repaint just that area after we have already painted the room. I think it would look silly... PLZ help what is the right way?

  1. you always patch and repair the walls before you paint  , no one in their right mind would do it afterwards

  2. All the prep work should be done before you paint. It looks more professional. Tell him not to be so anxious to see the wall color.

  3. What you are describing is called prep work. All PREPARATION (prep) needs to be done to 'prepare' for the painting.

If BF still is being ignorant &/or stubborn, when you go buy the paint, ask the salesperson how it should be done.
