Question:

Repair a cracked wall?

one part of an outside wall of my new house has a crack in a 'step' pattern, following the line of the cement rather than going through the bricks. It's not a wide crack. The house is around 50 years old. The architect I hired to survey the house said it wasn't a worry, but I'd like to know how to repair it. It's a double wall and the inner wall is perfect.

I suspect it might have something to do with a very large glass roof structure that was added on to that wall, and not done very well. Looks very dubious, and anyway I want to remove that. Your thoughts? any links? I'd be very grateful

  2. You'd want to chip out the concrete in the broken areas, and then smoosh new concrete in the areas, a process called "repointing".  Not sure if I'd bother, but if it bugs you, go for it.
