Repairing car body kit?

My car has an aftermarket body kit fitted, however the front bumper part has recently been damaged due to an item in the road that I hit, now there is a large chip in it and several small cracks, does anybody know how this would be fixed.

Thanks.

  1. it all depends on what its made of...plastic can be welded/bonded back together, then use plastic padding to ''bodge'' it,primmer and paint...

GRP...chip off the loose stuff,re-fibreglass,sand primmer and paint.

  2. you could get a fiberglass repair kit at a body shop supply house, or if you buy a new one next time get urethane so that wont happen again..

all wings west kits are urethane body kits.

  3. The best thing for you to do is go to your nearest car garage and ask there.but i think it will cost more to get it repaired then it would to buy a new one for your car.

  4. Easy, just buy a fibre glass kit (halfords do them) and some car filler.

Fibreglass the crack at the back then filler at the front, then simply sand down and paint!

  5. Take it off and repair it from the rear with fibre glass matting then when that is fully hard smooth it over at the front with body filler.

When the body filler is hard smooth that over with wet and dry sand paper until the repair is blended in then prime and paint to match the car.

  6. you first have to sand down then refiberglass then repaint
