Question:

Repairing concrete floor?

by  |  earlier

In my room, I'm fixing up my concrete floor. It has no cracks, but there are little(as in 1 inch wide, under 1/2 inch deep) chunks that have flaked away due to the nails that I pulled up that used to hold my carpet down. What can I do to fix these missing chunks? looking for a DIY solution if possible. I'm wanting to prep the floor for painting and sealing.

  1. GO to your local hardware store and pick up a concrete patching product. It should be either an epoxy or concrete based repair, not a caulking product. Don't worry too much about the color if you are going to be painting over it, it won't matter.

  2. you need to get a 2 part epoxy filler ,clean the holes by blowing them out mix the epoxy and fill.

  3. you can find concrete repair filler and any hardware store.

  4. Go to your local DIY store (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.). Go to the paint section...you'll usually find a section within the paint section with all sorts of tubes of materials used in a caulking gun. Find a latex non-shrinking concrete patch material. Follow the instructions on the tube, get a caulk gun at the same time if you don't have one.

  5. all those filler answers are expensive ..get a small amount of pva ..some building sand ..cement ..lightly dampen repair areas ..make sure they are clean first ...brush in pva ..mix sand and cement and fill holes whilst the pva is still wet ..this will fill the holes and not fall out
