  1. are you sure you're looking at roof felt. That's usually installed over the plywood and under the shingles not inside the attic.

  2. Purely for the draft, just stuff a smaller, stiff pc. of felt up there carefully and tuck it into the skip sheathing. Duct tape is OK but it dries out.

  3. You should not be able to access your roofing felt from the attic. You should only see the substrate of the roof (typically plywood or OSB board on newer homes and maybe planks on an old house). If you only have the roofing felt, that would leave no surface to nail the shingles. In the summer, the draft is probably a benificial thing, cooling the attic and easing the heat load. The attic space is designed to have ventilation for this reason. Anything you do to block the "draft" could be bad in the long run.

  4. You can use duct tape and some old clothes or towels to cover up the hole for now then call a carpenter when you get a chance to

  5. I don't understand how you can access your roof felt from inside your attic, unless you have a hole in the wood roofing material. If it's a small hole, patch the felt, then duct tape a piece of cardboard -- same size as hole--onto the roof from the inside. Felt & shingles will weatherproof your roof, cardboard will insulate it from inside.

  6. im with duct tape too!!!  make sure the surface is dry and free from dust, you dont wanna do it again!!

this stuff holds together the world we know!!!!

  7. Duct tape everytime.
