Replace Boiler Valve

Question

I have a Spidem Divina Deluxe and was having trouble with water leaking from the boiler valve. I removed it to inspect it. I am trying to replace it and when I follow the diagram for the placement of the spring and other parts, no water will pass thru the valve when called for.
