Replace sound system in my 91 Grand Am?

So basically the sound in this car sucks. I want to replace pretty much everything as far as sound goes, including the tape player(I want to put in a cd player that also has an input that you can put a cord into to plug in an mp3 player... how much would all this plus installation probably cost me...I'm looking for something that is fairly inexpensive but still sounds decent...

At the bare minimum:

Head unit - $200-$300

Front Speakers - $100

MP3 Cord - $5

Installation - $100-$150 (my guess)

Total: $405-$555

In reality, I assume you will eventually want to put in rear speakers, and maybe some subs, amps, etc... but for now, those items mentioned above should be adequate.
