  1. No!

The cords are of different voltage acceptance.

If you put normal house current through the wire you may cause a fire as the volt could overload the wiring and burn both it and your phone and possibly your house.

Cars are only 12volt whereas a house (in Australia anyway) is at least 240volt. Even the adapter on the end would blow.

    Sorry not a good idea.

Get onto Ebay and buy another one from there. Meanwhile use your car.

  2. Many years ago, I was in electronics school.  Back then, electronic calculators were relatively new and worked on 9v batteries.  In fact, prices had just come down and a 4-function (add, subtract, multiply, divide) calculator could be bought for just over $100 (nearly $500 in today's dollars).  We had one guy who was a regular electronics guru and he saved his money to buy this electronic marvel.  Since it had a connector on the side that was labeled AC, Mr. Electrical Genius got out his handy soldering iron, and soldered a length of zip cord (ac cord with a plug) to the connection.  And plugged it into the wall.

It only took a moment to melt down all that money into a worthless hunk of plastic blob.  But we all had a good laugh (except Mr. E.G.).  After all, if it could do 4 functions on 9v, then 120v should do Calculus!

So, consider what will happen when you feed 120v down a cable into a little hole designed to take only 12v.

  3. Depends. Car battery is DC, so presumably the cord has a DC-AC adapter. Household electricity is AC. If the adapter is auto sensing and can accept AC input then you'll be okay - but you'll have to read the adapter specs.
