Replaced ddr ram and still the same thing?

Question

i have a system and now when i turn it on,it give a single beep,i guessed that the memmory was bad so i inserted a brand new 256 ddr,and the system starts up but it goes directly into the cmos settings after the post,and it eventhough it recognises the hard drive at post,it doesnt allow me to set it as first boot device.so when i excape the cmos and try to start the system it beems and the system restarts putting me through the same thing over and over,gave me some knowledge on this problem,plz dont reply if u dont know answer about pc repairs.

Try doing a safe mode boot-up from the CD drive using your Norton disk (if you have been using Norton Anti-Virus) or using your Windows disk.  Also, post your question again with more information about your system specs.
