Replaced water filter with in door ice, water. i followed instructions on replaceing water filter

Question

i followed instructions on replaceing water filter and thought i had water coming back thru but it is not i know i am suppose to push the light and lock button to change filter which worked fine and i thought i had hit the right buttons to make water flow but evidently not. and of course i have thrown the box away. help
