Question:

Replacement Passport?

My passport went thought the laundry. The picture is still good but I just want to get a new one. Can I just take this passport with two new photos to the post office and apply for a new one or do I have to start from scratch and apply all over again by proving my identity with a birth certificate and drivers license? Will this be any faster or will it still take up to six weeks? Do they have to go through the entire process again or do they just issue a duplicate once they see I already have a current one?
