Question:

Replacement wand for canister

Hi,I have a Eureka Oxygen vacuum model 6996 type A. The electrical cable for the lower wand has partially melted the connector that joins to the beater unit. the simplist fix and cheapest would be to replace just the cable as the wand is fine. the second solution would be to find a lower straight wand that does not have the "sensor" (a dumb gimmick) but I don't know if it would fit. The last idea is to get the overpriced wand with the sensor.Ultimately, it would be nice to know why the melting happened in the first place. It did happen when the vacuum was new, then the top connector melted and the wand was replaced under warranty. This second malfunction took years to happen. The prong that seemed to overheat looks rusty. I'm wondering if the electricity was somehow impeded there and caused a heat buildup.anyhow, love anyone's thoughts on this.
