Hi, I replacing a light fixture however the new fixture has 2 sets of black and white wires for each bulb but only 1 set of black and white wires from the ceiling. The fixture design doesn't appear to have a pull cord. How do you connect 2 wires from the fixture to the single wire in the ceiling? If you don't what are you supposed to do with the extra wire? What is the extra wire supposed to do?

  1. It appears that each bulb has it own set of leads, so tie both black wires from the fixture to the black wire from the ceiling and do the same with the whites.

  2. twist together all the black to black and white to white, and ground wire to ground wire......use proper size wire nut which might be red in color

  3. Does it really have two sets per bulb, or does it have a total of two sets? In other words, are there four wires or eight?

It almost has to be a total of four wires, I have never seen one with a total of eight.

Just trying to be 100% sure we understand the fixture. You don't want to make a mistake and burn down the house.

  4. Twist the 3 black wires together using wire nuts then tape  then do the same with the white.
