Question:

Replacing a bicycle part?

It looks like this one part was broken off my bike. Not sure if connects to anything else but the frame and the gear shifter. Also not sure if it's a real part a has a name. But the link I provided below, takes you to a picture of it, while still intact to the bike. Or maybe you may need a picture of my bike with the portion that is broken off. My question is, can that "part" be replaced or is my bicycle just trash?! Please help! Thank you in advance.

  1. Easy to replace.  Its called a derailleur hanger.

  2. Search online for "Derailleur Hanger". There should be a code on it. You need to get the right one as they come in different shapes and sizes. You should be fine if it's a bike made by a big brand though.

  3. It could be replaced..
