Replacing a panel control board on my LG... I have the new board and have the plasma partially

Question

I have the new board and have the plasma partially disassembled. I see the panel control board underneath the boards on top. My question is this - Do the ribbon cables on the top two boards disconnect and do I need a special tool to remove them? They don't have clasps on them and look like they attach to the board directly. I tried pulling them off, but they seem very snug and I'm afraid to pull to hard. Thanks for any tips.
