Replacing wireless connection with wired

Well, we moved to a new house and my wireless connection is too far.. so we went through all the trouble to connect a cord from my computer to the d link router.. .but I don't know what to do now.. theres no connection and i'm lost. Thanks for the help.

  1. Well the first thing to do is make sure your network card is on. Chances are if you were on wireless before at some point it was turned off. Then your computer should be able to see the connection and using the network connections wizzard it should allow you to get on.


  2. Make sure that the network card is enabled and that it is set to use DHCP.

    Open the properties page for the network card and select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Click on properties then select obtain an IP address automatically.
