WQ: Which promotion would you wrestle in? (Random Question)
Reply to the challenge of 'UFC BABY'.
The two definitions of a sport:
- an active diversion requiring physical exertion and competition
- the occupation of athletes who compete for pay
WWE has both of them.
To make a fighting sport such as boxing, you would have to have rules and a weight division. Wrestling does have rules in the business and sure do have a weight division. You said you were a UFC fan for 3 years right? Guess what? It wasn't a sport before.
Facts:
If you were a UFC fan you would know that in the early 90's UFC wasn't a sport. They had no rules and they had no weight division.
Here are some examples: you could pull hair, punch them in the balls, and do whatever it took to win whether it would be by knockout or submission. They only went a round that was 15 minutes and in that 15 minutes, if you didn't knockout or make your opponent tap out, no one would be declared a winner.
As for the weight division, there was none. You had small guys going against big guys. (Example: Royce Gracie and Kimo, if you don't know both of them, don't consider yourself a UFC fan). Even though WWE utilizes that differently, it's because they are a different organization than UFC is. (WWE being Wrestling and UFC being Martial Arts).
Both are for entertainment purposes also. WWE is entertainment by the action in the ring, story lines, drama, and whatever else you can say. UFC is entertainment as the realism in that sport.
Basically wrestling always had rules, weight division, and more as long as I can remember.
I summed it all up and if you can't cope with it, then just deal with the facts then. I'm tired of wannabe UFC 'marks' in this section. I'm both a wrestling and mixed martial arts fan, why can't you just cope with the wrestling fans?
