Hey I am in grade 10 and i got my report card and I didn't do so well. my average was a b-. I really want to go to a good university. My teachers told me that universities only look at grade 11 and 12 marks, so if I study hard and get A average or even better, will I have a chance to getting into a good university. PS. I live in Canada.

  1. yeah for sure actually they pretty much just look at grade 12 the most but doing good is pretty important in 11 as well

  2. well for one thing your teacher was wrong, they look at all aspects of every grade in highschool. You definitely aren't however destroyed, a b- average is not bad at all and yes, if you work to make it better you can get into some great university. However, dont feel like your GPA is stopping you, honestly you are more than just a number.

  3. I live in Canada too! If you get an average of 85+ then that should be good enough for practically any university (except for those which look at more than just your marks). I have heard that some highly selective universities (such as Ivy League) will look at Grade 9 and 10 marks too, but I'm not sure if that's true or not, and in any case, there are lots of universities which do indeed only look at Grade 11 and 12 marks, with more emphasis placed on Grade 12.
