Question:

Reporters in Georgia getting shot?

Why is everyone making such a big deal about reporters getting shot? It's obvious that if you go into a warzone there's gonna be a big risk involved, its their own stupid fault. That's like walking into a burning building and expecting not to get burned.

  1. I  agree with the person who posed the question. Many of the military corespondents I'm most familiar with are  action junkies who live for the adrenalin rush. They know what could happen but still they go...

  2. It's the fact that the shooting was caught on camera, and that she decided to continue reporting after she got shot is what's making it a big deal. Very brave journalist.

EDIT: A journalist's job is to report. Of course they know what risks they're going to take when they report a story. You can't say it's the journalist being stupid, for they know their lives are at risk. I could understand your argument IF the journalist was complaining about being shot, but you're asking why people are making a big deal out of it, and the response is in the first paragraph I wrote.

  3. People are making a big deal because there isn't supposed to be any fighting in Georgia. Russia is, according to Bush's statement on the situation, supposed to pull out of Georgia soon. If a reporter gets shot in Iraq, people consider it natural because there's been tons of fighting there.

  4. Get some feelings.

  5. From where are we getting the news that reporters were shot? From other reporters. They are looking out for their own interests.

Also the reporter who was shot was American and whenever an American civilian is injured in a conflict, the media has a right and somewhat of an obligation to report it.
