but pls wait till 21 dec 2012....

  3. FIrst of all we need to clarify the fist mistake.

Reporters jobs are to REPORT FACTS.  We have been giving them more and more liberties and let ourselves get lazy over the decades.  We have to think for ourselves to make out own personal conclusions from the FACTS they are supposed to report.  If you watch, read, and listen carefully, you seldom come across a news reporter, regardless of media, that reports only the facts.  They nearly always put their thoughts, views and spin on everything.  Don't fall for that.

Secondly, and more directed to your question, they are merely repeating what the Mayan calendar says.  And the truth of the matter is that no one knows when or if the world will end.  It could be before you finish the message and it could be in a billion years or more.  This, of course, is only my opinion but I believe anyone would find it very difficult to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they knew the exact time (let alone day) of the world's end.

Do some research and make up your own mind as to what you think or believe.

Here are some link to Mayan calendar sites...

  4. Doubtful.

Although the Mayan/Hopi calendar predicts that the world will end on December 12, 2012, there is no real proof.  There have been countless predictions that the world will end. In AD 1000, people believed that the world would end because there were 4 digits in the calendar year.  In 1666, people believed the year world would end because of the ominous "666".  In 1910 when Haley's comet flew past Earth, people believed that it was a sign from God of the end of the world.  In 1982, all of the planets were aligned and that would throw off the gravitational pull of the planets and destroy the Earth.  In the year 2000, people believed that the world would end with Y2K.

Given the wonderful track record of past doomsday predictions, I'm going to have to say the world won't end.

  5. Reporters are usually full of bull---* anyway. Most of them don't take the time to research all the facts and babble about things they have no knowledge of. The answer to whether it is true or not is:  No one person knows.

It would be nice if reporters would report the FACTS, all of them (the facts) and then help by providing more info so we may research the facts ourselves instead of presenting personal opinions of their own or their employers.

Some people believe , based on the Aztec calendar, that because it (Aztec Calendar) supposedly does not go beyond 2012 that the earth will perish. We know very little of those ancient civilizations, their pyramids and why they were built.

Heck "they" can't even decide if we were created or evolved.

I personally think we were created and left here by a superior being. An experiment? By a "God", if you may. Because any being that can create life and genetically construct humans and vegetation and all other forms of living things of all types, and design them to survive this planet, WOW! That's a God

And I don't believe that we were an accident of nature.

  6. the aztecs predicted that the earth is perish in 2012 but i dont think that it has any truth to it. axtecs lived such a long time ago that they were not able to predict this far ahead. no one can do that.

i think that the reporters are just trying to get people to read their papers by saying that the world will perish in 2012

  7. no :]

  8. I herd that but I don't really believe in that because there was a medeor shower a couple of years ago and they said the world was going to end then.

  9. NOPE

because i believe scientists more than Myan Calendars....lol

  10. No. That's like trying to tell us the temperature/climate of the globe in 50 years. You can't predict it.

  11. This question goes beyond science. It has to do with politics, too. Spose McCain becomes prez with his finger on the button, talking bluster to Iran and Russia. Spose Russia arms the Taliban in revenge for how America supported them when Russia occupied Afghanistan. USA cant defeat todays ragtag Taliban, what about tomorrows better armed version, spelling defeat in Afghanistan. Now McCain is very frustrated. 100 years in Iraq just aint gonna happen on his terms, so he presses the button and voila! There you have it, months before the inauguration of another president for another term. McCain once before attempted suicide. Now he may take us with him..

So ask me again on December 13, 2012.

  12. People have been saying that the world is going to end for a very long time. No one knows when it will happen. and anyone who claims he knows is a liar.
