On my way home from work today a HGV followed way too close for comfort, all i could see in my rear view mirror was the grill of the vehicle!! it was a national speed limit single carriageway road, so i was going 60mph, is there someone to report this too? i felt very threatened by this vehicle and feel that something has to be said!

  1. if you have any info, like the name of lorry company or registration number you can go to the police or crimestoppers

  2. Use this site and report them next time................

  3. Well idk how frightening if was, but i have been in similar situations. What i do when someone is tailgating i usually speed up enough so i know they can see my brake lights and flash the break lights a bunch of times. Usually that does work, but when it doesn't i continue going the speed limit and eventually they will figure out that your there rather than have a car accident.

No matter what you can always call 911 and report a reckless driver and the state PD will mostly likely check them out. I have had to call 911 and report people like that before, just make sure, if possible, that you get the plate number.

Never be afraid to call 911, they are there to help you not intimidate you.

    hope this helps.

  4. Truck drivers try to do this to me some times - I wait until we're approaching a hill, then I slow right down, 30 or 40 km/h below the limit. Then I accelerate off up the hill, while they are stuck crawling up it. It helps if you can read the name of the trucking company, ring them up later and tell them where you were when the truck was tailgating you, and report it to a manager. The driver will get chewed out.
