Reports: Liverpool to sack Roy Hodgson, Frank Rijkaard might be Reds' new manager
Liverpool are set to show Roy Hodgson the exit door and if reports are to be believed, the Dutchman Frank Rijkaard could be the new man at the helm.
Reds' last night defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton is thought to have sealed Hodgson's fate and the club is now ready to axe the 63-year-old former Fulham boss within the next 48 hours.
Hodgson’s cause has not been helped by his slamming of Liverpool fans after they booed him and his players off the pitch as a reaction to their 1-0 defeat at home to bottom side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952.
"I am getting used to it, that is the way it is," said the 63-year-old, who believes that the negativity radiated by the fans has affected his players.
"We've had to live that with quite a long time now as ever since I came here the famous Anfield support has not really been there.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 owners NESV want to show their ambitions and with the club only 3 points of the relegation zone after 18 games, time seems to have run out for Roy.
With games coming thick and fast, NESV need to decide whether to stick with Roy for these upcoming fixtures or should they bring in the new man straight away.
Bookmakers have slashed the odds for Hodgson to be the next Premier League manager to depart from his present club and he now is the favourite even ahead of the under fire West Ham United boss, Avram Grant.
Frank Rijkaard could well be a popular choice amongst Liverpool supporters, who seem to be keener on Kenny Dalglish for now, according to the experts.
Frank Rijkaard was sacked by Galatasaray after the team lost 4 games in 8 weeks and were in 9th position in the SPOR TOTO SUPER LİG 2010-11. Still, Rijkaard won the UEFA Champions League and La Liga with Barcelona as their manager and was also
the man who introduced Messi. Apart from this, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldinho-c31733 won the World Player of the Year awards while playing under the Dutchman.
However, other than Rijkaard, the likes of Dalglish and Martin O’Neil are also very much in the frame as frontrunners for the managerial job at Liverpool once Roy Hodgson packs his bags and departs.
