We spent last night in hospital as about 9 ish yesterday evening i started bleeding heavily the blood was not bright red but very pink and lots of it. I went to A&E who confirmed there was blood in my urine, we were then seen by a gyne and she said it was a Threatened Miscarriage and examined me. She said she couldnt see anything as the placenta was in the way and she thinks the bleeding must have come from there. I'm very worried now as everything was perfect on the scan on wednesday and i havent done any heavy lifting or anything strenous what do you thinks happened? They wouldnt scan me but they listened to the heartbeat twice & i have listened today and it sounds normal. They have told me to rest for a few days in bed and 'see what happens' but i am so worried because they wouldnt scan me.

Because it wasnt bright red and more pink do you think i have anything to worry about and has anyone else experienced this? The bleeding has stopped so they sent me home this morning i have been getting a few pains but not a lot

  1. It sounds like you have placenta previa if the placenta was in the way. This can cause bleeding. I would take it easy.  You may be having this baby early.  Often with placenta previa, you have a big bleed and then end up on bed rest.  6 more weeks and baby is quite viable.  Truly, take it easy.  God bless you.

  2. They simply use the term Threatened Misc. because they dont know the exact cause of the bleeding. I have had 3!! Probably cuz I overdo it sometimes. I wouldn't worry. If you are, call your doc and he will probably gladly send you for a scan!!

  3. Stay off your feet and get plenty of rest and drink lots of water. Then first thing monday morning call your gyno. 18 weeks is pretty far along to have a miscarriage, it's not common it could happen but not common. I had a sub chornic hemorrage which is basicly a blood clot that is in the womb with the baby. I bleed off and on from 6 weeks to about 20 weeks. But you can only determine this by ultrasound.  Regarless you should have a u/s done, how can they tell where the bleeding is from if they can't see it. Call your doc monday asap, till then rest and stay off your feet, other then to shower and go to the bathroom. Good luck.

  4. placenta previa most liekly.. you should be bed bound.

  5. bleeding is not a good sign, do contact your obgyn for this they will keep a close eye on you.

  6. I pray that everything is ok, but you should prepare yourself just in case things don't turn out as they should. It is heart wrenching when you have to deal with this, just take it one day at a time, and hopefully everything will be ok. I don't know regarding the bright or pink color of the blood, if there is a significance or not. See what happens. Eventually they will have to rescan to check on the baby's status. Be strong, be realistic, and hopefully, it will be ok.

  7. All that you can do now is to have lots of rest. Usually when there is a threat of miscarriage, bed-rest is the one of the best solutions. Try to be more attentive to your body. If you feel something abnormal, call immediately and insist on appointment.

If you say again and again that you have concerns at last they gonna send you to sonogram.

    This is what I did.

    Good luck, and take care.
