Representitive Democracy?

I have recently learned that in my state, just to be on the ballot, you must pay 400000 dollars just to run for a State Rep spot. My question is, Is this a Representitive Democracy, or is it a Representitive Democracy that worships the almighty Dollar?

I think you should do a little more investigation about that fee.  I have serious doubts whether that figure is true.  I live in Georgia where the fee is $400 to run for the state legislature.  

You would certainly need more than $400 to run a serious campaign though...
