Estrous cycle- 21 days

Estrus cycle- 4-7 days

Spermatozoa required- 1

Ovum makes it into uterus in 4-6 days after fertilization

Attachment of ovum- 14 wks

Gestation period- 336 days

minutes to foal- About 10

peak lactation- 8-12 weeks

I agree with the first answerer on most everything except....

Gestation is actually 340 to 341 days which is why you take 11 months from breeding and add 5 days to come up with the due date.

Foaling takes anywhere from 10 minutes for and exceptionally easy birth to many hours for foaling with even minor complications.

Though it only takes one sperm to fertilize the ovum, several hundred or even a thousand more are needed to dissolve the covering over the ovule for that one sperm to penetrate.

I am not sure how long it takes the ovum to get to the uterus.
